Continuation from the above. I have altered the apt sources to allow kmail to 
be installed. Apt-install found some dependancies and installed them with 
kmail. No error messages. However starting kmail did give a lot of error 
messages. As the documentation says, Ubuntu is gnome based at the moment and 
they haven't got a team to sort out kde program installation and you install 
those at your own peril.
	Looks like it could be fairly stable if you stick to their way of doing 
things. Those with more experience with Debian would probably sort out the  
installation problem using extra apt-sources.
