[SlugBug] sharing directories over internet

Hi all.

Does anyone know of something which can synchronise direcories
prefereably over ssh between two gentoo boxes?

What I want to do is edit a file at home locally, then have it sent upto
the development server at work immediately.

I had tried shfs which uses ssh to provide a pseudo filesystem, which
actually just refers to the development server and downloads files as
they are required, but does not cache, which is a bugger when I want to
grep over a large directory.

I am currently using vim in a remote shell, which is OK so long as the
connection is good.

TIA
