Hi,

Unfortunately i haven't done any serious tracking since the Amiga, so i
don't really know... :)

Well, you can always use other peoples. Pretty much all music created in
the demoscene (when it was it's and xm's etc, instead of mp3) is free to
use however you want, that includes ripping out the samples and using
them for yourself. Pretty much only useful if you're into creating
electronic-sounding stuff, but a good source nontheless. Just credit the
person whose the samples are in the mod if you're distributing it... i
don't know how you'd credit them if you're distributing a final mp3/ogg
version other than an accompanying text file...
If you've no idea where to start looking for the music, start at, umm,
www.ojuice.net... that thing has a lot of music news if you browse the
archive, and from there you'll probably find some good music sites.
That's the best i can think of, i am afraid :)
How about asking on comp.sys.ibm.pc.demos? There'll probably be lots of
trackers on there who might know where to get stuff from.
