"Most food in the world – more than 70% – is grown, harvested and consumed
locally. It is provided usually by women who are small-scale food producers
– farmers, livestock keepers, fishers, urban gardeners... produced without
chemical fertilizers and pesticides. These inventive and skilful people
know how to produce good, healthy food for their families, communities and,
especially local, markets."
