[SlugBug] Postfix Maildir receive problem

hi

many thanks to Chris for the MediaWiki tip - it worked.

my problem today is with a new install of Postfix which we have set-up 
to use Maildir just like our current mailserver.  i cannot collect any 
mail from the new server (using Mozilla) even though there are messages 
queued for me in ~/Maildir/new - however tail /var/log/maillog says this:

> Sep 28 14:00:05 test ipop3d[18295]: Auth user=bill host=[x.x.x.x] nmsgs=0/0
> Sep 28 14:00:05 test ipop3d[18295]: Logout user=bill host=[x.x.x.x] nmsgs=0 ndele=0

having STFW the problem might well relate to the default postfix queue 
of /var/spool/postfix so main.cf has now been amended thus:

> #queue_directory = /var/spool/postfix
> home_mailbox = Maildir/

the server works ok sending mail to local and external users but it's 
just not possible to receive any mail.

some more detail - i've just sent a message to the machine and maillog says:

so the messages are indeed going to Maildir - i just cannot get at them.

any advice/ideas?
