hi

i've heard back from o'reilly and i have some sort of form to fill in.

as a LUG we can qualify for a 25% discount on o'reilly books and other 
stuff:

> User groups are volunteer, not-for-profit organizations, and O'Reilly
> is pleased to help these groups by providing member benefits that include:

> - Review copies of O'Reilly products 
> - 25% discount on all O'Reilly products 
> - Donations of books and other promo items 
> - Speaking engagements with O'Reilly authors when possible
> - Electronic Newsletter 
> - Printed catalogues – twice a year 

there is a tiny catch that they would like us to add their user group 
logo to the website but it does not sound mandatory:

> Groups registering for the O'Reilly User Group Program should have: 
> 
> - Membership of 5 or more people 
> - Regular newsletter or user group Web site for shared information 
> 
> We also would like you to add our user group logo to your site see http://ug.oreilly.com/banners/.

what's the group view on this?

there is a charge of £3-50 P&P *per order* but if we go ahead with this 
folks might like to organise amongst themselves to place a humungous 
order and share the measly £3-50 P&P  :o)
