[SlugBug] java

[pault]

hi all 
 
just trying to use irc in konqueror and it tells me "java executable not found". 
 
so in terminal [and i thought this up all by myself]: 
 
$ whereis java 
java: /usr/share/java 
 
huh. do i have to do something to it activate it?
