[SlugBug] Testing server links

Hi Slug-buggerz

Please bear with me if my questions are not quite sane nor reasonable  ;o)

I have a fairly large site running on a server and I'd like to test 
_all_ the weblinks that it serves including links to files that it hosts.

Is there an app that can do this under Linux?

Or is this best done with a script?  If so, can I see your script?

Ideally I'd like to run this as an automated process once a week and 
have the results (i.e. any broken links) emailed to me.

I'm sure this is achievable - please tell me how.
