Does the ChangeLog of your version list the following change?

2006-06-04  Pablo d'Angelo <pablo.dangelo at web.de>

	* ptpicker.c, PTcommon.c: Moved InsertFileName from ptpicker.c to
	PTcommon.c. This broke compilation of PTmender, when java support
	was disabled.

Unfortunately, the ./configure script does not pick up the jni.h on dapper automatically, even if it is installed.
