Odd, I have panoglview-0.2 running with both Mesa software rendering 
and the NVidia hardware acceleration.

(trying again, I can't get current CVS to work either).

Maybe, the software rendering is quite fast with small windows 
(about 640x480), but becomes unusable full screen.
