[ptx] graceful out of memory & diskspace detection ?

if there is not enough ram for panorama creation and hugin is run from
console, it simply spits out
error during stiching:St9bad_alloc
and otherwise it looks like it has finished creation succesfully. if it
is not run from console, i suppose there is no error message at all.

also i think (but i don't want to test it right now ;) ), hugin also
stopped processing when there was no space loft on disk.

maybe there is a way to detect conditions like these and fail gracefully
(and let user know what happened) - and maybe even allow to 'retry' in
case of disk space shortage ?
