Hal, there are ebuilds for Panotools / Hugin / Enblend and autopano sift.

Not many updates to this thread though.

However I have been unable to get Hugin / Enblend or autopano sift to 
install using the ebuilds.

I have built Hugin and Enblend from cvs, and these work like a charm on 
my Gentoo amd64 box.
