I've got an Athlon64, but I haven't installed a 64 bit linux yet.
I think Suse and Mandrake offer 64 bit versions.

I've downloaded a 64 bit knoppix from
http://www.applia.fr/contents/knoppix64.html
but I haven't tried compiling any stuff on it yet.
