Just to be clear, I wasn't suggesting that we'd ever use less than full-
resolution for actual picking.  But half-res is enough to see what frames
are what, when you're flipping through the pairs.  Maybe it's an
unworkable idea for little benefit, but it's handy in some applications to
keep and show half-resolution images *while* loading full-resolution from
disk.
