hugin - changing lens settings

There's just one thing preventing me from using hugin to do some
real panorama stitching; that is that I can't change any of the
values in the 'lens settings tab'.

This broke for me about two weeks ago, the package I built on
2003-07-28 is ok and any packages since then are broken (same for
current cvs).

With the 20030728 version; if I select a photo, all the fov, a, b &
c etc.. values populate the fields, and I can edit them in place.

With later versions, I'm stuck with all photos being Rectilinear and
90deg fov.
