Hiya,

Not sure I'll make the GA tonight, but pls remember to put on the agenda:
the need for ppl to hopefully offer any space in their homes for people
coming to the conference from elsewhere.

I can put up 1 to 2 people - live in Hillsborough just near the tram, so
easy access.

Ey up,

Removing excess tents has passed through consensus and has been happening.
We had 25 tents, which was reduced to 20 recently (last week).
Broken/abandoned/excess storage tents that were no longer needed on site
were cleared up to the Citadel for drying/sorting.

A couple of days ago there was consensus to further reduce the number of
tents down to 10-15. This hasn't happened yet for a couple of reasons:

1) We will probably need extra sleeping space for the Conference next
weekend. We could leave tents up for now, or take them down for a week and
put them up as needed(?)

2) People who own the tents need to discuss what they want to do with them.
There is a labelled plan on site of the tents that are left.

Separate to this is the proposal to shuffle the camp down towards LloydsTSB,
which was discussed and didn't get consensus. Most people thought it was
doable. Reservations were that it was still on Cathedral land, that
currently it is a good display next to the tram stop which gets lots of
people standing there anyway, that it would be moving closer to the street
drinkers' bench, so pushing their territory again. I'd be interested to know
what the Cathedral thought of it as an idea now. I got the impression they
were stone-walling all our negotiations/suggestions, and that they had
dismissed this idea before.

Solidarity and hope,

Joe

Hi all,

I met Carl today and he re-iterated that they were expecting a concrete
proposal from us and did not get it. They will not meet with us again
until we offer some kind of proposal. He did not find Friday's meeting
with Joel constructive. They would like to negotiate a way out and not go
to court.

Therefore can I offer a :

PROPOSAL for tonight's GA that we downsize the camp on Monday 23 Jan and
move it to the far corner of the Cathedral forecourt nearest to Lloyds TSB

and that we immediately inform the dean and chapter of that decision in
writing.

In peace and hope,
Deacon Dave
