Here is some basic info on some other community groups having input into
local buildings.

Hope this is useful as a starting point. Might need detailed info at a
later date.

*Abbeyfield Park House*

The Friends of Abbeyfield Park are now trying to lease Abbeyfield Park
House from SCC (see below) similar aims to preserve the building and create
a community hub. See extract from website:

The Friends of Abbeyfield Park (FOAP) are reconstituting as a Charitable
Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and seeking individuals to join our Board
of Trustees, which will govern the organisation.

The Board of Trustees will oversee our plans for Abbeyfield Park House. We
are negotiating with Sheffield City Council about a community asset
transfer which would see FOAP take on the lease for the House. We plan then
to apply to the Heritage Lottery Fund for funds to carry out a full
refurbishment and convert the House into the Abbeyfield Community Heritage
Hub, a community venue which will be used to research, promote and
celebrate the diverse culture and heritage of our area.

They previously had to start a petition to get the council to undertake
roof repairs.

*High Hazels House*
Friends of High Hazels Park is a registered charity which works with
Sheffield City Council to regenerate High Hazels Park and with both the
council and Sheffield International Venues to develop High Hazels House as
a general purpose community resource.

Meetings are held at High Hazels Park, S9.
*Burngreave Cemetery*

http://www.friendsofburngreavecemetery.btck.co.uk/ They use the chapel in
Burngreave Cem which is owned by SCC.

*Brincliffe Towers*
Brincliffe Towers in Chelsea Park was sold off in 1995 to a private
developer.
