Dear Shareholders, Vegbag Customers and General Hazelhurst Supporters

We are happy to announce that we now have a 6 person committee and a
new worker and are very keen to have fun on the land over the coming
 year.

Our new worker is Kim Davidson. She works 10 hours a week for
Hazelhurst CSA and does some growing for Huw for another day a week.
She is lovely and would love visitors to the land. You can contact her
via vegbox at hazelhurst.coop or on 07903 363724

So, we have worked hard for some temporary stability and NOW we need
 your help on the following:

 1. Help us to find new veg bag customers

 2. We need additional committee members

 3. Join in visits and activities on the land - first visit will be
Saturday afternoon on 6th December to collect holly and make a Christmas
door hanging - more details to follow. Call Renate on 0114 2016043

 4. Finally - The Great Veg Bag Amnesty! - please give back any
Hazelhurst bags you have - thanks!

See more detail about these here:

 1. We need 5 to 10 new customers - so, please as ask friends who live
near our distribution areas or neighbours if they would like to receive
a very local veg bag or someone a little further a field where we can
start a new distribution point. Flyer to follow in your veg bag.

 2. We need some new committee members. Alison is helping us with the
transition to the new committee but will leave no later than the end of
March 2015. The committee manages the day-to-day business of HCSA on
behalf of the membership. It's a great opportunity to put something
into your co-operative and help it to thrive. We're particularly keen
to develop our activities interacting with Sheffield Organic Growers and
the land (see next point), so you might be interested in - for example -
organising the summer camp, putting together a yearly calendar of
visits, running or organising a day on the land learning about herbs, or
 whatever you would like.

But we also need people to support the administration of running a
co-operative organisation, so if you have skills in that area (e.g.
management of membership lists, planning and monitoring progress,
minute-taking, etc.), we'd love to hear from you! It doesn't require a
massive time commitment, but it's really important that the co-operative
 runs effectively and successfully.

If you prefer, you can be a shadow member to see if you like it and
then volunteer at the next AGM in September 2015. If you are interested
 - or even just want to hear a bit more about what commitment it might be
involve, and what roles are required - please call Joan on 2498613 or
Yvonne on 07879 697569 or email admin at hazelhurst.coop

 3. We need to build up the activity of Hazelhurst CSA. We think an
essential part of the co-operative has always been its link to local
people and the land, and the opportunity to develop those links further
is a key part of this year's plan. So we would particularly like to
develop land visits and volunteers on the land. If you can help with
this, or have ideas about how it can be taken forward, please let us
 know.

 Introduction to Kim

'I'm Kim, the new coordinator. Some of you I have met before and some
of you may remember me from your AGM in September. I also work with
Huw one day a week up on the field, mainly harvesting the veg for your
bags that evening. Since I started at Hazelhurst, I have noticed that
quite often I run out of official Hazelhurst bags, and sometimes even
the council replacement ones some of you have provided. Could I please
ask that next time you come to collect your bag, you make a concerted
effort to remember all the empty ones you have at home. We are
currently down at least 27 bags, so if you could return any amount of
bags you have next time you come to collect your veg, I would be most
 appreciative, thank you.

Also, if anyone is interested in seeing where your veg actually comes
from, or how the bags are packed, please get in touch and this can be
easily arranged! It would be fabulous if I could meet and speak to all
the veg bag customers, whilst showing them what I do. It IS cold and
damp up on the field, but there is always something that needs doing, so
if you have a spare hour or two on a Thursday, I would really love to
 see you up there!'
