I'm a developer for scoop (http://scoop.kuro5hin.org/) and I can 
certainly recommend it. It's very powerful, and can be used as a CMS as 
well.

I run my site with it, http://www.hulver.com/, which is a community 
blogging site.

Scoop is ideal for a shared blog site.
