it does indeed.

dmesg is filled with firewall logging crap, M$Blaster/MyDoom probes and 
so on.

will amend the firewalling rules to try and drop as much as possible 
without affecting functionality - not sure if this will help but it 
needs to be done anyway.

however, i'm still tempted to reboot - you can take the boy out of 
Windoze but you can't take Windoze out of the boy...   ;o)
