[SlugBug] Setting up plustec scanner on lpt1

Hi all,
	Trying to get my parallel port plustek scanner to work under linux.
I've downloaded the plustek-module, sane back-ends etc. Followed the
instructions but under SuSE 8.2 I get kernel version too old and under
RH9.0, I get error messages about not being able to find file and stops
when doing a "make load". I have the kernel source installed as per the
instructions and have tried installing using the two methods in the
instructions which come with the sane plustek-module. Is anyone willing
to talk me through this so I can see what I'm doing wrong.
