Hey all,
Anyone up for going to this? Should be quite interesting! Sheffield
people are you already planning to attend? Seems if you aren't it would
be wise if the slots went to you..
There is also an opportunity for 10 people to attend the co-operative
congress in Birmingham towards the end of June. There aren't any travel
costs provided but if we organise for it early trains shouldn't be too
steep. More info on that when it is confirmed by Co-operatives UK -
would be good to have a good spread of people attending though and brum
lot will be able to put people up for the night.
Cheers,
Sean.

To Students for Co-operation, North West Housing Services, and the
Phone Co-op,

I am writing to invite your organisations to co-lead a workshop on “How
young people are re-vitalising the cooperative movement” with Sheffield
student housing co-operatives as a key case study. Please find
conference flyer attached. We are seeking diversity in conference
speakers – it would be great if you could nominate a clear speaker who
is female and/or from an ethnic minority.

160 people attended the first conference Ways Forward for the
Cooperative Movement, earlier this year – with very high quality
participation. We expect higher attendance this time, as events and
responses continue to unfold. The conference is being held the day
before the Cooperative Group’s Annual General Meeting, when many
co-operators will be in Manchester.

We have kept costs to a minimum, as many participants will be paying
out of their own pockets. Two speakers from Students for Co-operation
are offered travel expenses (if known in advance), a free place and a
warm welcome.

There are also free conference places for volunteers under 24.

Best wishes
