[ptx] bug: image cache corruption?

under Windows, it seems the image cache can get corrupted, that is CPs are displayed normally and one of the images is
the wrong one.
When exiting, I got an ERROR (editor  panel CPP 503 selectGlobalPOint setGlobalPOint: point 56 not found in
currentPoints).

I suspect it is again a problem with threads synchronization (you know, MS discovered preemtive multitasking only in
1994 (NT 3.5) and for most appications, 2000 (win2k) ;-). It does a very poor job of balancing CPU usage...
