qmake is part of qt-devel (or qt-dev) package. It's a Qt tool to generate 
the Makefile according to the platform used. It takes a <project>.pro file 
to do the job. See man qmake. You need Qt 3.x. PRevious versions use tmake 
instead, but I don't think they are compatible.
