[olsx-tech] Projecting onto St Pauls

Hi All

Not really sure which working group to send this to, so am just sending it
through to the general groupspace and leaving it open for people/WG to make
contact.

A friend of mine, who has been loosely involved with the occupation from
the very beginning, and is very sympathetic to what we are trying to
achieve here, runs an installation and animation company that does very
high end mapped projections for museums, bands, DJs etc. He has been
expre4ssing an interest in doing a project at St Paul's for some time and
we have been discussing it informally but really need to open up the
discussion to a broader forum and connect up with any working groups that
want to be involved or would be affected.

It would be great if we could incorporate this into a bigger event.
visually it is likely to be stunning, the concept is incredibly democratic
with SMS content everyone could contribute to and that we could tailor make
to the situation. combined with some key speakers, celebs, music anything
this really has the potential to be eye catching and headline grabbing if
we make sure we attract some press for the event, livestream it and make
get it up on youtube asap after the event.

John does this professionally, has been able to borrow state of the art
equipment and has the trained professionals to operate it.

It would be a shame to not exploit this to its full potential. If we can
all pull together and coordinate with upcoming events and ideas this could
be spectacular.

For more details on what he is proposing to do and how that may link in
with other things planned, see the email below. Have copied John and his
colleague in on this email as they have been trying to contact some of the
working groups already but have so far not heard back from anyone. Know we
missed the process meeting last night, but this is unlikely to happen until
next week so there should still be potential to work it in with planned GA
topics etc. Could anyone who thinks this is an interesting idea, would like
to liaise on the execution, contribute to content or link up with other
events please contact John Munro (john at immersive.eu) and Mark Calvert (
mark at immersive.eu).
