<DIV dir=ltr>Hi everyone,<BR> <BR>I've had a chat with Doug today who has been doing our negotiating for us. I decided to do this as I was getting a bit demoralised about<SPAN class=yiv733999615Apple-converted-space> </SPAN><BR>the length of time the whole process is taking and worried that this opportunity is likely to slip through our fingers.<BR> Doug is really on the case, and things are just taking a while. The overall outlook is still positive.<BR> <BR>This is what I understand of the situation:<BR> <BR>Basicaly the lease is with Hammersons (the development company) and the council. The landlord is still absolutly up for us having a temporary lease.<BR>The council are debating the wording of the lease to do with reclaiming the property and making sure that we are not able to claim tenants rights and<BR>demand to be re-housed. It is to with the understanding that the lease is only temporary.<BR> <BR>Doug has also
been talking to the council about rates relief, apparently Sheffield Council are not very hot on giving discressionary rates relief.<BR> There is a working group in the council on temporay uses and support for this so we may be able to use this to help our cause.<BR> <BR>We need to get on with forming a CIC in the meantime, and maybe raise some more funds.<BR> <BR>Best Wishes,<BR> <BR>Claire<BR> <BR>
