Just been making similar (but as always less coherent) notes on the train on the way home. <div><br></div><div>I think in order to make the popup camp work we need to think about: </div><div><br></div><div>-Why we are there? Why are we protesting? Why are we part of Occupy? </div><div><br></div><div>-Being armed with OS flyers + a specific flyer (ideally) about banks (and/or about inequality and the current [banking] system perpetuating this?)</div><div><br></div><div>-Statistics/figures - perhaps ready to adorn on a tent which people can contribute to. </div><div><br></div><div>- Logistics - tents, chairs, kitchen stuff (including tea, coffee, water, stove, cups, plates, cutlery, food, milk, sugar, etc. - note: most of this is ready to go at my house)<br><br></div><div>What else do people think? Have other camps already carried out popup camps? </div><div><br></div><div>Loads of love to you all </div><div><br></div><div>xxx</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><div><div id="SkyDrivePlaceholder"></div><hr id="stopSpelling">Date: Fri, 2 Mar 2012 18:55:45 +0000<br>From: joe@occupysheffield.org.uk<br>To: info@occupysheffield.org.uk; occupysheffield@email-lists.org<br>Subject: [OccupySheffieldPrivate] [OccupySheffield] GA notes, Wednesday 29th February 2012<br><br><br><div>Hey there,</div><div><br></div><div>Just a reminder that the latest Occupy Sheffield General Assembly notes are up on the wiki: <a href="https://occupywiki.org.uk/wiki/Sheffield/20120229" target="_blank">Wednesday 29th February 2012</a>.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Things to discuss at the next Weekly GA on Monday 5th March (6:30pm, Rutland Arms, Brown Street):</div><div><ul><li>The 24-hour pop-up camp next Friday: Still against "The Banks". <li>Citizen journalism. We can write our own articles and record our own interviews. Let's start doing this more, starting this week.</li><li><a href="http://www.moveyourmoney.org.uk/" target="_blank">Move Your Money Month</a> - March 2012: <a href="http://www.moveyourmoney.org.uk/where-can-i-move-my-money-to" target="_blank">Alternatives</a> and personal actions.</li>
</ul><div>There are also a couple of new sections for people to add to on the wiki - <a href="https://occupywiki.org.uk/wiki/Sheffield/Slogans" target="_blank">/Slogans</a> and <a href="https://occupywiki.org.uk/wiki/Sheffield/Statistics" target="_blank">/Statistics</a> - to build on the education aspect of the movement. This could then be used as inspiration for placards, banners, leaflets etc. in the coming months. If you would like to be more active, this is a project to think about.</div>
