Subject: [OccupySheffieldPrivate] [OccupySheffield] Tonight's meeting
Hello all,
I'm afraid I won't be able to make tonight's GA as I'm really snowed under.
I got a message from Sally who is the songwriter who put in the proposal to Radio 4. Unfortunately the proposal was turned down, but Sally would still like to write a song with us. She thinks this would work better in a smaller private group, rather than as a public event.
"Perhaps Occupy could consider when they might want me to do something? Don't think this would work as a big advertised public workshop - but a chance for some committed activists to have a go at writing stuff that is functional and fun - ie can be used to good effect in actions etc which ARE public."
So, if people could consider this at tonight's meeting, that would be much appreciated. I also heard through Facebook that young Deacon has been sentenced to 9 years in prison. He was a member of the camp for sometime and thought it would be good for people to know. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but there is an address on Facebook and I think it might be nice to send a card. What do people think?
xxx
