<div><br></div>My big thing at the moment is bringing together different groups, or individuals from different groups, to learn from each other and work out how to work together - or if not together, then in parallel, going in roughly the same direction and communicating, so that we tend towards helping each other out, rather than tripping each other up or pulling in different directions.<br>
<br>The library is a great start as it's already bringing together the local community, anti-cuts activists, Occupy people and squatters. <br><br>How about now inviting in people to give talks or workshops on co-ops, anarchism, non-violent-direct-action, participatory democracy, economics, energy issues, food security etc. (You could put a list of possibilities up in the library and find out which subjects residents and visitors are keen to find out about - the ones I've mentioned are just subjects that I find interesting.) Make time and space after the talks/workshops for people who've been inspired by what they've heard to socialise and start collaborating - ask the people who give the talks/workshops to be prepared to hang around after, not rush off, and to bring their friends.<br>
<br>The really important thing with this is that rather than thinking - "oh, that'll be a chance for me to expound my pet subject and get more people on board with my project", we could try thinking - "oh, that'll be a chance for me to learn something new and meet some interesting people and maybe we can help each other out."<br>
<br>I don't imagine this will lead to a manifesto or the reaching of any tangible goal. Just more knowledge, more skills and more contacts for the people who engage. Which will all be very useful in the gradual progress towards our goals.<br>
