From marknbarrett at googlemail.com Fri Jun 22 00:13:17 2018 From: marknbarrett at googlemail.com (Mark Barrett) Date: Fri, 22 Jun 2018 00:13:17 +0100 Subject: [OccupyComms] SUNDAY GET TOGETHER IN NORWICH Message-ID: INFO ABOUT SUNDAY Our guest Clive Menzies plans to present about his group Critical Thinking's work, about the conclusions they have come to (about the root causes of our problems / crises) but mainly the methodology they have used to come to their conclusions so we can consider about how to develop good learning practices ourselves. The Q&A / open discussion afterwards will then be an opportunity to explore about this methodology but also to consider about the root causes they have identified (theft of the commons, hierarchy and usury) and perhaps in the context of themes our reading group has been exploring (re-villaging and local community organising, municipalism, social ecology, human freedom, domination by commerce, science and technology, the importance of spirituality & religion etc) and/ or in the wider political context (Brexit and the European question, nationalism vs globalisation, the twin threats of world war and ecological breakdown, the tension between building alternatives and putting forward demands and the question of a 'Norwich Manifesto'). After the talks there will be a short presentation about an orphanage community one of our members is involved with in Gambia and to ask for our financial support. Any / all thoughts on this in advance of Sunday are most welcome and hope to see you there! All welcome and please share this invitation http://norwichwellbeing.com/events/re-villaging-norwich-presents-a-great-get-together/ Cheers :) Mark -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
