Hi Occupiers,

Today Occupy Bath took part in a bit of street theatre, dressed as moneybags outside the big banks, dancing to music, handing out flyers and speaking to members of the public.

We've uploaded some pics to our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/OccupyBath and I've written a full write up of today on my Occupy blog http://standingstonesblog.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/occupy-bath-move-your-money-street.html

Back in December we started the Bath People's Assembly, which continues to meet twice a month and now have a few projects on the go and in the pipeline. It is also attended by people who were not involved in Occupy Bath as well, and open to anyone to come along.

Our petition to get our council to move their (our) money from Nat West to an ethical bank now has 70 signatures, more than the required 50 signatures, and continues to grow http://democracy.bathnes.gov.uk/mgEPetitionDisplay.aspx?id=5

Also, Bath People's Assembly is organising a big event for the 28th April - Visions for Change - Inspiration for a better Bath and beyond. The idea is to bring as many campaign groups and organisations that are active in Bath together for a day, with free stalls and speaking slots in order to highlight their issues. 15 groups, ranging from local to national to international groups have now confirmed. More information on the Bath People's Assembly website (soon to be upgraded): http://www.bathpeoplesassembly.org/

Hope all of your projects are taking off and it would be good to hear any suggestions. All are welcome to attend the Bath People's Assembly if you want to see how we are running it (next meeting 18th April, 19:15 - 21:00 at the Friends' Meeting House, York St, Bath) and also the Visions for Change event.

Solidarity,

Standing Stone
