Hello Everyone

This is just quick note to ask if you'd like to arrange a designated
RSS feed from your local assembly for the inter-assembly newswire we
are developing
for May. if you think it's a good idea please pass this invite to your
local tech team as they will be able to set the channel up very easily
from your local blog and we can go from there.

We now have confirmed participation from Madrid, London and also
other assemblies in Spain New York and other parts of the US.

There's a brief invite below.

Basic idea  is that we are encouraging a designated RSS channel for
official assembly endorsed info, and while local groups are getting
this set up we are redesigning www.peoplesassemblies.org so that it
can feature the info in a well organised way. Just to be clear, we are
NOT after the main RSS feed for the sites, but rather we want a
designated on specially for the global newswire project, so that local
groups can consider carefully what posts go on it, ie posts about
assembly work / call outs/ politics that they want the rest of the
movement to read, and not just people in their own locality.

Anyway - please read the following and also the full info at
www.peoplesassemblies.org/newswire and let us know if you are able to
arrange a designated feed category on any of the  UK assembly
blogs. We are keen to have the platform operational with feeds from
the bigger cities asap so we can show how it works and
test it out in the run up to May.

A global newswire is now being developed to allow Assemblies and
Assembly-endorsed workgroups to communicate worldwide in the run up to
May 2012.

The platform utilises a simple RSS feed from each local assembly blog,
and is being designed to share official ideas and projects, develop
political conversation, encourage shared workgroup initiatives and
generally problem-solve between Assemblies.

If you would like the posts from your local Assembly's blog to be
automatically broadcast live at the global newswire, here's how:

(i) set up a special category (named, eg 'newswire') on your blog.

This is important, because it acts as a filter so that only posts you
designate as being for wider consumption get featured.

(ii) register (ie send) the RSS feed address for the special category to:
pan-owner at lists.takethesquare.net

(iii) start posting under your designated category local assembly
content which your local Assembly deems of wider interest. [Please
note, you do not need to post in English, but dissemination is quicker
if you do]

(iv) watch it appear on the global newswire!

Global subscribers to the newswire will then be able to receive your
content easily via subscription at the dedicated site
www.peoplesassemblies.org

All posts there will also link subscribers back directly to your local
blog and are open source. We hope you are as excited as we are about
this project, and if you are be sure to send us your designated RSS
feed as soon as possible!

Un boletín de noticias global está siendo desarrollado para permitir a
las Asambleas y grupos de trabajo oficiales comunicarse con todo el
resto del planeta y así facilitar la preparación de Mayo de 2012.

La plataforma utiliza sindicación RSS de las entradas desde el blog
oficial de cada asamblea local, y está diseñada para compartir ideas y
proyectos oficiales, desarrollar conversación política, fomentar las
iniciativas de grupos de trabajo homólogos y resolución de problemas
generales entre las Asambleas.

Si te interesa que las entradas del blog oficial de tu Asamblea sean
publicadas automáticamente en el Boletín Global de noticias, debes
hacer lo siguiente:

(i) crear una categoría especial (llamada por ejemplo, "boletín de
noticias”') en el blog.
Esto es importante, ya que actúa como un filtro de manera que solo las
entradas designadas de interés global serán enviadas hacia destino.

(ii) registrase (es decir, enviar) el RSS, direccionado la categoría especial a:
pan-owner at lists.takethesquare.net

(iii) comenzar a publicar en la categoría designada el contenido que
tu Asamblea local considere de mayor interés (de interés
internacional).
[Tener en cuenta que no es necesario publicar en Inglés, pero la
difusión será más sencilla si se hace]

(iv) ver la entrada aparecer en el servicio de noticias global!

Los suscriptores globales al boletín de noticias a continuación, recibirán tu
