Many thanks Kim ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: KRISTINA DIPROSE Date: 10 March 2016 at 16:54 Subject: Invitation to University of Sheffield research on sustainability To: admin at hazelhurst.coop [2] Dear Hazelhurst Agricultural Cooperative, I am a researcher at the University of Sheffield working on INTERSECTION, a cross-national project about intergenerational justice, consumption and sustainability. Our research looks at the things people buy and use, their views on the environment and their ideas of fairness and the future. We are interested in comparing across generations and in three countries at different levels of development: China, Uganda and the UK. This work is funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council and you can read more about it at www.sheffield.ac.uk/intersection [3]. I am getting in touch because I am looking for individuals and families from Sheffield to take part in this research, and I wonder whether this is something that would be of interest to your members? Specifically, I am recruiting people interested in either: * A three generation family interview (young person/parent/grandparent). * An individual interview about shopping habits and views on the environment. * A discussion group with people of a similar age. I am looking for people aged 16 or over, of all backgrounds and generations, and am especially looking for help identifying more three generation families. People do not need to have a particular interest in or knowledge of environmental issues to take part; I am glad to hear from people with a wide range of opinions. I have some flyers (attached) that I can deliver; and I would also be happy to come to a meeting to introduce the project, if you think this would be appropriate. I find people are more likely to take part if they can meet a real person and ask questions! If you think you could introduce me to some of your members or you would like me to come and talk about the project, you can get in touch by email or on 07736 480924 to arrange a convenient time. Alternatively, there is an invitation below that you can include in a newsletter or email. I do hope this will be of interest and look forward to hearing from you. All the best, Kristina *** ADVERTISEMENT COULD YOU BE THE VOICE OF A GENERATION? INTERSECTION is a research project about fairness between generations in the UK, China and Uganda, in particular the things people buy and use and their views on taking care of the environment. We are looking for Sheffielders aged 16+ to take part in individual interviews, and also for families where three generations (e.g. young person, parent and grandparent) are happy to be interviewed. This is a chance to have your say on what makes society work for people of all ages, and we hope to take these views to policy-makers. We would like to hear from people of different backgrounds and opinions ? you do not need to be an expert on environmental issues! If you are interested, please contact Dr Kristina Diprose by email k.diprose at sheffield.ac.uk [4] or telephone 07736 480924, or visit our website: http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/intersection/takepart [5] INTERSECTION is based at the Universities of Sheffield and Leeds, and funded by an Arts & Humanities Research Council Care for the Future grant.
