Do not forget the user factor. There is already a community using it, it
is at least known between people in architecture (even if it is not that
much used at the moment). There are people who cant teach it. There are
howtos...

That is why I mentioned the Verse protocol, which is also already
supported in Blender and may be suitable to attach all kinds of
applications to the model.

I must be a bit careful, while I am trying to fire the thread from a
user side (I am architect not programmer, and it is easy to write
nonsense), I have too many ideas about projects that would fit so nicely
into that... ;-)
