Program Officers (2), Global Internet Freedom Program -- Washington, D.C.

Freedom House is an independent non-governmental organization that
supports the expansion of freedom in the world. Freedom House
functions as a catalyst for freedom through its analysis, advocacy,
and action. Freedom House seeks a Program Officer for its Global
Internet Freedom program.

The Program officer will work with the Senior Program Officer on
program implementation, program activities, maintaining regular
contact with program partners, reporting on program progress and
impact, and assessing conditions of Internet Freedom in restricted
environments. The candidate will also be responsible for some
financial aspects of the project. The Global Internet Freedom Program
seeks to compile documentation on violations of Internet freedom,
build a network of online activists to challenge Internet censorship,
coordinate events and trainings, and to promote freedom of expression
online.

The appropriate candidate should have knowledge and experience in
grant writing, internet governance, freedom of expression and New
Media, as well as strong research, writing, and problem-solving
skills; strong written and oral English; foreign language skills such
as Mandarin or Arabic highly desired. Must be detailed-oriented.
Masters degree or equivalent plus 3-5 years experience required.
