20 new projects across England will seek to demonstrate that ICT and the skills to use it can benefit individuals, families, communities and society itself and enhance "Social Inclusion".

One of the "demonstrators" is formed by a partnership between Destinations UK online centre (Saltburn) and Tees Valley Community Media (University of Teesside) Developments in the Teesside project will be reported regularly in the Sid Blog at www.tvcm.co.uk/index.php/sid

In awarding the funding the University for Industry (UFI) said of the Teesside bid........ "The panel was very impressed by the strong innovation element to your bid, particularly the commitment to developing community media and how you will work with local partners to attract the very hardest to reach members of your community to be part of the Digital Village".

UFI will appoint researchers to follow the S.I.D.'s and The University of Teesside's School of Social Sciences are also hoping to perform a study of the Teesside element.
