Hello,

I hope you are well.

My name is Abena, and I am the current admin assistant for theCommunity 
Research Initiative <https://studentsunionucl.org/volunteering/cris>. 
This is a department within the UCL Volunteering Service that, among 
other things, oversees collaborations between master’s students and 
community organisations. Where possible, we partner up a master’s 
student with a community organisation to work on a research idea that 
both parties are mutually interested in and, most importantly, be useful 
to you! The aim is to produce research that has a direct impact on the 
local community as well as a community product that will be yours for 
future use.

Is collaborating with a student something you would be interested in?

I am actually getting in contact with you because one of our students 
has raised interest in working with you. Her name is Daria and she is 
currently enrolled in our Social Policy and Social Research MSc 
programme here at UCL. They are interested in your organisation because 
you focus on learning from other co-operatives and community members 
from across the world, and she hopes her research can contribute to your 
aim of collaborating with others to build knowledge. She would like to 
focus her research on community land trusts, as she thinks they are a 
housing model which holds great potential for alleviating the housing 
affordability crisis in London. With that being said, she would love for 
this research to be collaborative from the start and would like to get 
in contact with you to discuss research aims.


We would love to hear back from you and see how you feel about this
